 Putney Public Library Writers Salon will run the first Thursday
evening of each month from November through March from 7-8 pm and
will feature writers of fiction and poetry from Vermont and other parts of
the United States.The host for the series is Toni Ortner who lives in Putney,
Vermont. She has had 26 books published by small presses. Most recent are
Daybooks I and II by Deerbrook Editions and Daybooks III by Ardent Writer
Press. Blue Lyrics will be published by Adelaide Books next year. Toni is
Vice President of Write Action which is a nonprofit group that supports
writers in Southern Vermont, specifically the Brattleboro area.

On Thursday December 2, 2021 from 7- 8 p.m. The Putney Library Writers Salon will present an evening of poetry.We will feature J. R. Solonche who was nominated for the National Book Award and twice-nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. He is the author of 26 books of poetry and coauthor of another. He lives in the Hudson Valley. His most recent book is Selected Poems 2002-2021 by Adelaide Books.

Peter Davies will read poems by John Whitworth the late British poet who died in 2019.  Peter is the copy editor for Kelsay Books that published Joy in the Morning which was John Whitworth’s last book. John was born in India in l945 and began writing poetry at Merton College, Oxford. He won numerous prizes and was published in highly regarded literary magazines. He published l2 books of poetry, a textbook on writing poetry, and edited an anthology.
