In 2016, I visited Finland on a research fellowship to learn about the life and work of artist/author Tove Jansson. I will present a slideshow and talk about Jansson’s work as a cartoonist, painter, picture-book maker, and novelist — as well as her unique life, which she split between in Helsinki and a small remote island in the Gulf of Finland.
