SUMMARY:Poetry Chapbook Release Reading
DESCRIPTION:Poetry Chapbook Release Readings \nSaturdays at 1pm\, June 15th and July 13th \nIn 2019\, Putney Public Library began to assemble a chapbook of poetry by writers with creative ties to Vermont. While the project was unexpectedly delayed by Covid\, the chapbook is now complete and ready to be released into the world! The book\, appropriately titled Time Capsule\, was hand bound in community workshops with marbled endpapers and a beautiful letterpress cover. \nThe contributing poets are Emma Paris\, Michelle Blake\, Dede Cummings\, Candace Jensen\, Ben Pease\, Bianca Stone (Current Vermont Poet Laureate)\, Chard deNiord (Past Vermont Poet Laureate)\, Em Peake\, Nancy Storrow\, Rita Banerjee\, Robin Myers\, Kate Gleason\, Amanda Galvan Huynh\, Claire Gieringer\, Mary Ruefle (Past Vermont Poet Laureate)\, Didi Jackson\, Major Jackson\, and Megan Buchanan. \nJoin us for two readings this summer where you can hear some of the contributing poets read past and new work and purchase a chapbook of your own. Readings will be Saturday\, June 15th at 1pm and Saturday\, July 13th at 1pm at Putney Public Library. Chapbooks will be sold as a fundraiser for the Putney Public Library at $50 each\, payable by cash or check. Chapbooks will also be offered to each library in Windham County for their circulating collections and a digital file of the book will be available to view or download at the Putney Public Library website.

SUMMARY:Walking Each Other Home: Exploring aging and loving\, losing and dying our way: a reading and discussion course with Michelle Blake
DESCRIPTION:Walking Each Other Home: Exploring aging and loving\, losing and dying our way: a reading and discussion course with Michelle Blake \nExploring aging and loving\, losing and dying _our_ way: a reading and\ndiscussion course with Michelle Blake \nTuesdays July 16th- August 6th 6:30pm-8pm \nWhen I started looking for books on aging\, loss and dying\, I kept\nfinding titles like AGING WITH GRACE. Grace? Ugh. I’m done being told\nhow to get old\, or do anything else\, really. Guided by WALKING EACH\nOTHER HOME\, a collection of conversations between Ram Dass and Mirabai\nBush\, let’s gather this summer to discover our own ways to age\, to\nlose\, to learn. \nMichelle Blake is an author and educator who lives in Putney. \nTuesdays July 16th- August 6th 6:30pm-8pm
